It's not a jaded world view. Just a jaded view of the west.

Get ready to see in our life time, if you're not too old, chinese tourists going to LA to shag cheap white whores.

While I agree that the efforts to oppose and repeal the Farmer Assurance Provision aka the “Monsanto Protection Act” deserves more media coverage, a quick news search shows that the recent global protests have received wide media coverage...

There are controversies around GMOs on several levels, including whether making them is ethical, whether food produced with them is safe, whether such food should be labeled, and if so how.

While I agree that Monsanto cares only about profits and not consumer safety, I don't see why we should oppose codex alimentarius, aka the Book of Food.

What we SHOULD do is work to ensure that the codex alimentarius requires companies like Monsanto to GUARANTEE that their products are in fact safe for human consumption.

That a chemical company like Monsanto, which invented Agent Orange and used to manufacture products such as the insecticide DDT, PCBs, and recombinant bovine somatotropin is now a major food producer should have everyone concerned.

    Here's why Tony.

They tried to introduce it here a few years ago and some bent well paid official put it through overnight. Luckily the farmers here told the government to fuck right off - and they did - for now.

What it does/did is ban everybody that grows .. well pretty much everything we eat and use as natural remedies from producing anything other then food. You need a license... awarded by.... I'll let you guess to do anything else.
In effect they are trying to make natural free abundant plants and herbs illegal.

This is pretty deep and I don't have time to write shit down - research yourself - Bangkok post. Try to speak to the journalist about the article - she won't talk to you.

They are fucking everyones seeds and trying to stop us using plants that belong to us.

    That's why Tony

    Who is "they"?

As I understand it, the codex alimentarius is a collection of internationally recognized standards, codes of practice, guidelines and other recommendations relating to food, food production and food safety, yes?

BUT! The standards, codes, guidelines and other recommendations in the Codex Alimentarius are NOT mandatory. (YET...)

At present it is a voluntary reference standard for food and there is no obligation on countries to adopt Codex standards, (YET...)

So, given that the codex alimentarius is VOLUNTARY and not MANDATORY, why shouldn't we work to make sure that it is shaped by concerned citizens and scientists rather than allowing it to be usurped by corporations such as Monsanto that are attempting to use it to force their GMO products on consumers around the world?

Honest question and I'd very much like to hear your opinion

There are only two groups of people who should defend Monsanto. Those that work for them and those who are bribed by them. they have a financial reason to do so.

EWveryone else should be awake enough to realse exactly what this company is about.

Tonybkk - do yourself a favour - watch more than 10 minutes of it. Watch it all. Then question what your government is about allowing that to happen, supporting it, and pretending it is for the good of the country. Anyone who has any faith in politics and their "democracy" should view it as well for the same reason.

Fuck me, 38 minutes in and I'm starting to feel sick to my stomach.

No more industrial milk for my family, that's for sure!

Fortunately the local Food Land sells milk and dairy products from Dairy Home, the fantastic organic ranch in Pak Chong...
