We have two choices: the 'lessor of the two bad.'
Some serious and honest discussion is needed for society and world.

I am led to believe that there are around 10 people standing for the presidency ? How come then that the public and certainly non Americans only ever hear of Obama and Romney ? Where were these people during the debate they just had ? Surely if they are standing for president they have a right to be heard as well no ? In the UK on the run to an election all parties have to be given the same amount of air time yet in the USA it seems that cash is king. No pay ! No play !
The USA is forever imposing its democracy on parts of the world where it deems it is needed yet doesn't seem to give any back home ?
Maybe you have to be American to understand the system ?
From the outside looking in it looks fcuked !
Treat everyone as a complete and utter idiot and you can only ever be pleasantly surprised !
Simple answers, the game is rigged. In order to be on debates, a party must be registered in several states. The small parties cannot afford to reach the magic number so they will always be left out. Shame but unless the debate rules change, the US will always have 2 party politics with same result. No matter who wins little changes.Originally Posted by The Big Fella

To an outsider it appears you are right. The people who actually run the country have rigged it so that there is only ever a choice of the two parties and as they own both it doesn't matter which you vote for they still win
BRILLIANT !
It gives the illusion of you thinking that voting matters when it doesn't !
Norton is spot-on.
The entire system of matching funds and other structural issues keep 3rd parties excluded in reality.
Sure 3rd parties can run, and there are about 10 or so.
But they will never be able to enter the market duopoly of the Republicrats.
Some words of wisdom from Jesse on the subject.
If Ron got on the ballot and ran as anything besides a republican, it would insure BHO'S victory, like what Nader did to Gore insuring W's win, Ron knows this, that's why he won't do it.
