This isn't a scandal-

The premise behind the Benghazi scandal is that the President failed to label the attack an “act of terror,” and misled Americans about the attack; both for political reasons.

This is a scandal-

what the Reagan administration did: high level officials secretly sold weapons to Iran through Israel (to get hostages freed for political purposes) and then used the money to illegally fund the Contras in Nicaragua.... the Nicaraguans took the U.S. to the World Court and won... Reagan ignored the decision and the U.S. used its position on the Security Council to block any enforcement of the judgement.

In Benghazi a US Ambassador was brutally murdered, something that doesn't happen very often and should have had the President's full attention.

Instead it's a big time case of Presidential incompetence and dereliction of duty.

It's common knowledge that Reagan's people arranged with the Iranians to keep the hostages until after the election.

Out of that Iran/Contra was born. There were lots of other shady deals Reagan promised that took place after their release, monies freed up, weapons sold to Iran etc.

If you want to see the depths to which Republicans have plumbed start looking right there.

The duty of the President is to address exactly a crises like Benghazi. But he just went to sleep and went on a campaigning trip the next day. If that isn't delriliction of duty nothing is!

I guarantee you he was getting minute by minute updates. His actions are actually treasonous during war time and subject to the death penalty.

If we actually held our politicians to some standard, we might be seeing less of this bullshit.

It's a plain and simple case of dereliction of duty during wartime. Punishment can be death under military code of conduct. Obama needs to be held accountable for the death of Ambassador Stevens.
