2. The headline of the article is misleading and slanted. It makes a reference to Mellenhead being a VP for Obama. This make no sense and it intended for the masses who can't think for themselves. I wouldn't call Obama foreign articles and speeches withing the context of Mellencamp, nor his statements in this interview at all.

1. Well, as a anti-war clueless 'useful idiot', by default he's left-wing - far left.

2. The Obama reference is from recent times where, as an appeasing Democratic contender for the White House, Obama might be inclined to have Mellencamp as his V.P.

Perhaps a large percentage of people that define themselves as "left" may oppose the U.S. attack and campaign.

As do a large percentage of "Conservatives" who oppose the campaign.

There are very few "left-wingers" in America. I would imagine less than 15% of the population, and perhaps less.

Most folks are in the Radical Center.

"Left wing" in the US means you want to finance schools with tax money.
"Far left" means you think everyone should have health insurance.
"Communist" means you support the right of workers to unionise.
