His point is thus: if you are responding with fallacies in your arguments then it is not necessary to respond other than to point out your fallacy.

The quote you made about the resolution calling out to extremists 'Yoohoo, we're on your side' is a classic strawman (actually it's called a Straw Demon fallacy) and is not worthy of any sort of response.
