    Organized religion.

I hate it! I think it has ruined or changed the directions of many civilizations.

Why do I bring this topic up? Because of my damn dog bite. Here is a shot of two outstanding young members of the Utah Mormon faith trying their luck in my neighborhood. The gentleman on the left is from Florida and the other 'falang' is naturally from Utah.

This issue does not just involve the states but the European countries as well.

I say piss on the them all.

BTW, I 'politely' told them boys not to visit my 'soi'.

Them mormons are the loveliest, caring, helpful, bunch of mass-delusioned freaks you can possibly imagie. Right up there with them scientologists. I heard a bit of what they believe (Jesus lived in Utah, the red indians were sons of lucifer, Joseph Smith - their 'leader' spoke to god who told him to find some magic plates & stones - from which he translated into the book of mormon by reading it out of a hat) & they are lunatics. They believe that by spreading the word they will be turned into angels.

    All religions are hocus pocus.

    Every single one.

I wonder how many avoid the Circe's (a.k.a dirtybitch Noi) spells, how many fall into her perverse clutches

I wonder how many do but don't say

Knew on of them guys that "fell from grace." Made the best crank in California, his own best customer, finally quit drugs and went back "on the circuit"

Deep devotion to organized religion is just another form of addiction. These guys should be arrested as dealers in the "opiate of the masses"

I think it comes from the western mentality of not minding one's business and trying to interfere with how other people live their lives.

    Anything objectionable so far?

I think he was just asking you to comment further on where your sentiment against organised religions in general stem from.

Jews hate Christians. Mormons hate Indians. Muslims hate other Mulims. Scientologists hate non-scientologists. I could go on. Imagine a world without any religion whatsoever? It would be a lot better place.

You must be thinking of this:-

Oh, the Protestants hate the Catholics,
And the Catholics hate the Protestants,
And the Hindus hate the Moslems,
    And everybody hates the Jews.

There was that time too, then they started worshipping trees, rocks, rain, and it soon went off the rails.

All religions are about power and control over their followers.

While most religions seem to have fairly laudable philosophies (discounting Thuggee for example) it is the reituals surrounding those philosphies that have corrupted them.

Islam and Judiasm seem to have the most exacting rituals as far as I am aware.

Islam for example tells it followers not only when to pray and how to pray but has lengthy ritual purifications that have to be followed first.

    And then there is :-

    What to eat
    When to eat
    What to wear
What parts of you are to be shaven or not
    How to take a crap.
With special restrictions on women of course.

and so on and so on.

Anyone prepared to accept such very rigid rules of conformity is likely to be very susceptible to suggestions put to them by authorative figures in the religion, that have perverted the original philosophy to their own ends.

Judaism has similar rituals, but for all their faults Jews aren't trying to force Judaism on the rest of us.
    Lord, deliver us from e-mail.

Now there's the better approach. It's not organized religion as such, but the belief that if you believe some whatever or other your neighbor has to believe it too. And if he chooses not to, then he must be forced to. I believe that this attitude has been the root cause of the majority of wars in this world.

Live and let live, I say!

If one wishes to become a Christian, Muslim or Buddhist, the conversion could be achieved within minutes. If one wishes to become a Jew, however, it take years of study among other trials, with no guarantee of success, and even so any conversion would be accepted by no more that a minority of reformed, or progressives.

On this basis alone, I would not accuse Judaism of forcing their beliefs down anybody's throat, and certainly not to an informed audience.

Could, but it usually takes time studying as well. As for Buddhism, I don't think there is a formal 'conversion' as such.

Yeah, it's an exclusive religion, as they regard themselves as the chosen people.
