The Dragonlady decided her scales needed burnishing so with crocman in tow she boarded a flight to Langkawi. Once in Langkawi we deposited our luggage at a little place called the Telaga Boutique Resort. This place was chosen mainly for its proximity to the boat harbour where we would be boarding our ferry to Koh Lipe. I didn't get any pics of this joint but it was nice and clean with good sized air con rooms and a nice pool area. It set us back about 2000 baht for room and brekky.
But more on Langkawi when we return. Now we were off to Koh Lipe on this thing,
The trip between the two islands takes a little under an hour and a half and on both legs of our journey the seas were not angry. It actually takes longer to get through immigration on both sides of the border than it does to do the trip. Once we got there we settled into our new camping ground on Pattaya beach.
The Akira Beach Resort.
We got one of those rooms that has direct access to the billabong. The resort had two nice pools.
The Akira is one of the more upmarket resorts on the island and set us back about 6500 baht per night.
We had read a lot about Koh Lipe and it's amazing beaches and waters. It definitely didn't let us down in that respect. The sands on Pattaya beach would rival those of White Beach on Boracay and the waters would rival some of the South Pacifics best.
The end of sunset beach.
Sunset Beach.
There are quite a few different beaches on the island and the Dragon Lady left tail marks on most of them. The most popular beaches are Sunset beach and Sunrise beach(Pattaya). These beaches are pretty much at opposing ends of walking street.
Sunrise beach.
This beach is at the bottom of a cliff upon which is perched a watering hole most favoured by the fire breather.
A few more beach shots.
