    Does anyone know this place?

    http://bangkok.craigslist.org/apa/106031645.html

Its a block of Condos in Pattaya. Now I know i said I was after some peace and quiet, but this place seems very reasonably priced and not too shabby.

Don't know if that link worked. It's a block of flats or condos ar whatever you call them out there. Called View Talay Condo Complex in Jomtien. They look okay actually, much more reasonable than a good hotel and less people to bother me.

I have never been to Pattaya and know it seems a strange place to get some peace and quiet, but it looks like a great option. Close to BKK for business matters, has a good pool, beach nearby and I hear there are a few bars in the area.

Ideal would be if someone knew a good game of football going on regularly on the beach.

It,s actually a few hundred meters from me, within 500 meters you have several Italian restaurants, a few indian ones, a russian one, plus all the usual ones, jomtien is quite peacefull although there are several short time bars, a gogo bar and loads of other bars, it's about 3km from walking street in Pattaya which I think is a 10 baht taxi ride, they have a lot of good deals for long time stayers as there are so many empty units, but only book for a month first as there maybe a lot of room renovations going on and it maybe too noisey.

Could you hazard a guess at how much it would cost a long term stayer dog?

Cheers for that dog. I am only going to book for a couple of weeks anyway, we can see what happens after that. Good to know about work possibly going on, can I borrow you shooter if the noise it too loud?

I am feeling good about the whole things actaully. They owner of the condo has been really helpful, seems like a nice guy. The only thing Im scared of is some German panting over a young girl (or even boy) next door to me. But no worries, Ill just turn my music up eh?

Sorry for sounding like a girly-man, but is there good chance of a bit of sun up there? Also are there mobile phone shops, Thai Banks and decent clothes shops around?

Look out Pattay, Barton is coming for ya'.

they start from about 7k per month and go up from there, one of the banks I use is siam commercial, it's about 2km up soi thepasit, but they have an atm just outside viewtalay and loads of others dotted round the area.

last few days have been rainy, today cloudy but it seems to be clearing up.

    Thanks dog,

That sounds like a really good price for a month, much less than I will pay. But I am happy to take 2 weeks and see what happens.

Marmite the dog stays there on his dirty weekends of debauchery, the one he stays in I believe is 17k per month.

I'm sorry - I didn't click the link as I thought there was no way it was going to be the only place that I have ever stayed in in Jomtien.

The place I used a couple of times was quite nice. It's a double unit, so you get a proper living room, bedroom & kitchen. There's everything nearby and there's two big blocks together, so I'm sure you'd be able to make a few friends if you wanted to.

The only downside is that the walls are a little bit thin, so you can hear next door sometimes and you will have to watch your own volume levels if you care about your neighbours.

They do seem fairly good value though (from what the Dog has posted price wise) - certainly worth checking out.
You cannae live wiv 'em and ye cannae fucking shoot 'em
