When I was in Chiang Mai I found a bookstore near to Pornping Tower Hotel, all books 99bht. I picked up Schindler's List.
I noticed a stall on the corner of Sukhumvit soi 4 full of 2nd hand paperbacks. Sorry I didn't ask for price

Dasa Book Cafe in Bangkok has over 15,000 used book in a data base that can be downloaded. You can only make payment thru Bangkok Bank to their account, and the books will be sent thru Thai Post.

Cheapest I have found in Pattaya is at Charity Bookshop "Thais4Life" on Soi Yensabai just off Soi V.C. All books are 80 Baht with halfprice exchange. Also some DVD's at 20 baht.

Try Soi Chaiyapoon off Soi Bukaow. The Canterbury Tales Guest House has a good selection of everything that would keep the average Pattaya dweller interested. Loads of True Crime, Sports, Thai themed books. 150-200 baht with the 50 per cent buy back offer.
Does a good breakfast too and has free internet.
