You are lucky Norts. Our neighborhood has some kids running around but they are too young. 4-6 age. Most the kids work with their parents at the market. Hard to pull them away. For now, quite honestly, I enjoy doing the work. I spend time with the dogs running around. Its great exercise and with the right tools the jobs are easy and with the pool bar TV and sports on, I take regular breaks to watch them, then go back to work. Of course then there is the cold beer reward at the end. .

Sure many of us "senior" folk did to earn spending money. Different world now, Tops. Hard to find a kid who will find the time to fit in yard work around their near full time smart phone schedule.

I started out mowing lawns, fixing fences and farm equipment. How I learned to rebuild engines and fix transmissions. Mowing lawns and doing yardwork can be a pretty lucrative gig as a kid. Most the money got me gas and parts for my dirt bike and go kart.

As for the ATV, Its just too damn hot to go ride and every trail is a dust bowl. I go on simple rides up to the lake area but nothing to far. Rainy season is coming so the mud will be fun to go ride in. The business I bought the ATV from has a riding group and they travel north to ride at various locations in Tak to CM. He has sent me vids and it looks like a weekend of a lot of fun and they seem to drink a lot of the Leo Goat piss HAHA. I am going to make a cooler for mine to bring some of my own along.

Today is 41.5c and rising right now.

Amen to that Norts. Manual labor outside in the heat....NEVER! Most kids nowadays are pretty lazy or maybe smart. The YT FB segment allows them to make money just having sheeple follow them along. Crazy. I also remember washing cars and trucks for a few bucks and of course I assume you worked at a gas station at one point. I did, Nights and weekends. That's when they were full service and you really had to check everything.

LOL, I teach many kids who literally stay in their bedroom all day playing games online, they never go outside and ride bikes or play football with their friends.

On the mainland, the temps are much hotter than here, but today instead of being our normal 32-33, its 37 and all I have is window style air conditioners. It's roasting.

Worked at a Car Mechanics as a young boy.

Putting tools back in their right places and sweeping the floors.

Got around to doing welding and grinding down my own weldings !

Quit at 13 or 14 years old and went for green house work.

    8 times better pay !

(before the eastern european social dumping invasion)

My economy has never been better

Did the cutting grass thing during the summer at age 12.

At age 13 discovered that selling hash was way easier, paid much better, and the girls were much more into it. No brainer really.

Wife downstairs in the family room with the AC on with the dogs staring at her tablet probably buying more crap we don't need. I am upstairs with a nice fan on watching a movie and browsing TD. I was up at 5am and was done with the basic yard stuff and watering by 10am, wife and I went and had some lunch then came back and retreated.

I will go swim in a bit and pop me a beer or 3.

6am and 28c (82F). Predict 43c (108/109F) today and very clear skies no smoke haze so the UV index is very high.

Looks like an early BBQ and go hide to avoid being incinerated.

It works great so far. The fan is really quiet. You can run the fan without the light on. It has 5 speeds. The light also has a dimmer setting so you can light up your bathroom almost too bright to a low setting. whatever you might like. Its quite light weight so no special roof bracing required. Lets see how long it holds up. I do like that it is all plastic so being in a bathroom no worries of stuff rusting away. The fan motor bearing appears sealed really well.
JPPR thanks for the road test, i'll wait out how long the fan lasts, you'll likely end up with just the LEDs working

The 'fan' not working. He'd be closer to Mendy than he likes to be.

Jury is out at this point. At this point its a nice restroom add. I guess if the fan belly's up, I am back to a light as I had before. Cost to change was minimal and the light is far better.

Late yesterday I cracked open a nice bottle of Anejo. Man what a nice Tequila.

Back to the cooler set up when I go on a mountain ride. As it is, the storage box that came with the ATV is a perfect design. I will drill a hole and add a drain valve so I can load with ice and the appropriate riding bevvys.

Lunch by the pool now retreating from the heat. 39c and rising fast.

Oh I knew Toots. No worries. I have my reservations on it as well.

Let me track down the link.

It does have a 12v power source, but I think a big load of ice it will last a day no issue. No reason to drain the battery. can save that for charging.

You are a mechanical engineer, right? I think you can figure out how to fix/replace/upgrade the fan motor FFS.

I am and could but ya know Snubs, the fan was like $20 bucks on sale. Probably cost me more to repair it. Life of consumables I suppose. If I get 2 or 3 years and it croaks, all good.
