    hi all

    A little about myself:

I'm Dutch (someone has to be) and I've been living in Thailand, Maptaphut to be more precise, for six months. I'm married and have three children. My wife is a teacher and I an engineer. Our first impressions of Thailand are excellent and the people are fantastic. It's been great to be so warmly welcomed in a foreign country.
It seems that correct usage of the English language is a prerequisite on this board so I'll try my best to get it right. Forgive me if I don't.

    Regards

    kazi

The English Language teachers on here can be quite nasty to each other when they make spelling mistakes, just ignore them

I see you know the Ducth to a T. Luckily my wife and I class ourselves as being not so opinionated as our fellow clogs.

We had a Dutch guy on our staff a couple years ago. His English was perfect. His only flaw was that he had no flaws--I hated him. Nice guy he was, had a great name too, Micha. Good luck to you and the family.

I have a Dutch mate who insists on being 3 cm away from your face when he talks to you. He's also a bit loud. Maybe that's where the Seppos get it from?

    Welcome, btw...

When I worked in Sri-racha, I took an English writing course at work. Our teacher was American-Dutch, yeah.. he's quite cute.

There is an expression often used in the states when friends go out to eat. "Let's go Dutch" they will often say.

Any clues as to why and welcome through our TeakDoors!

I worked in the dairy biz and the Dutch dairymen where often a PITA because they wouldn't spend a penny unless you could prove a 5 cent return on that penny!
Let's go Dutch is a continuation of the "cheap" theme. Meaning you spilt the check.

    Welcome to the dutchman! BTW.

And Marmite all Seppos don't like getting in your face. I don't like people getting that close to me.

I asked first. But ok, here's my motivation:

    1. I like metal, and skulls are very metal. Digging is also an activity carried out during the indulgence of metal. Sometimes this is referred to as 'headbanging'.
    2. 'Skulduggery' is a funny word.
    3. I like to dig inside people's skulls, find out what makes them tick.
    4. Unbeknownst to many, Skulldigger is also an anagram of 'I'm the guy who steals Marmite's left socks from the laundry basket'.
