Thread: Hello

Been thinking about joing this site for some time, and got prompted by Marmite's link to some threads here about Penang on another site. I've very much liked the travel, construction and gardening stuff I've read here recently and in the past and haven't looked at much else yet, but I'll get around to it. I'm more of a browser than a poster, so my post count won't be very big. I've been travelling to Thailand and Malaysia since the early 80s, and was a pretend teacher in Bangkok in 1989-90 and a real teacher in the UK afterwards, but those teaching days are long gone. I'd rather go from A to B in Bangkok thinking about what I'm going to eat or drink than what's in my lesson plan or how much dosh I've got until pay day. Now in the UK I just worry about the crap I have to deal with tomorrow and how many more years are left on my mortgage, so in many ways life hasn't changed much
