Smile thoughts of an old Newbie

As a happily married 66year old beachbum, I get asked quite frequently what is my fascination with thailand, am I just perv or a dirty old man!!luckily my english wife is as big a fan of thailand as I am,so are the kids and grandkids. The reason for my infatuation is many many moons ago (early 1963) after a 4 month jaunt in the jungles of borneo, I was whisked away to join some like minded fellas who were living in tents on a building site in north east thailand about 35kms south of Mukdaharn, deepest darkest Isaan!! this was to be my home for for the next 40 months, this experience was to influence the rest of my life, things like driving a truck down to Utapao a 7day roadtrip in those days, driving up a golden beach in what is now Pattaya, no bars or hotels or even roads then, not a lot of people know the first bar in Pattaya was built by RE,s, was even there when it opened but thats another story, please excuse the ramblings of an old man lol, if my anecdotes areof interest will write morewill try to add a photo of our first visit to pattaya

    Welcome Ningi.

Some photos of the "old Pattaya" will definitely be very interesting.

Seems like Ningi is still trying to unwind his fingers after his first post. Old age does that to you.

Great to have you here and I would really love to see those pictures!

Come and join us really old bastards and to give these young-uns some grief.

    Smile Thanks

Well folks I didnt expect such a positive response!I have a few black and whites posted in my gallery, would have liked to have posted them here, but its a bit confusing, I think my computer is dyslexicI used to have a complete photo history of Bkk ,Pattaya and Phuket in the early 60,s but my psycotic 2nd wife trashed them along with anything else connected to thailand , still thats life, luckily my 3rd wife has the same interests and she is sane, but I digress ,thanks for the interest

    Great first post Ning!
I'm pleased too that you have a western wife- several folk i know in (gasp) Pattaya have western wives, but we don't hear from them here on TD.
    Sincerely, welcome to the Forum.
