    Allo!

Exile from ajarn, where it's all going the way of the pear!

Registered a while ago (there have been 633,527 new posts since my last visit!) and thought it time for another gander.

In particular I think I'll check out some of the cool travel threads - might give me an idea of where to go on hol here in China when the exams finish soon.

    Cheers!

    Welcome back Kwai.

Got bogged in that muddy mire called Ajarn did ya? Strange for a water buffalo.

Never visited there, in fact anywhere else but this place seems the best forum and from all accounts.

    Enjoy!

I'm quite lazy, so just went to the one place for my Thai forum fix.

Nowadays most of the posters seem to be trollers, socks and newbies, hence my stroll 'across town'.

that's an ajarn name for a multinic.... for instance EN has about 3 or 4 socks....

and now they have a Mr Sock complete with handsock puppet that send warnings and infractions to naughty posters, Angelina Jolie got one for posting on a bkk phil thread and pity Ajarn was going down the gurgler.

apparently you aint allowed to be negative and Louie's EMpire

I learnt it on that forum, but I figured it was a universal internet term?

Too many bad vibes there lately - I go on the net for a bit of light relief!

Still, this board's bound to have it's share of malarkey too. Don't some people take all of this shit a little too seriously!!!!!!

    Are you based in Harbin?

    Changchun, Harbin's ugly cousin!

(That said, I haven't been to Harbin yet - maybe for the ice festival).

I thought it'd be cool to try teaching somewhere mentally cold, so I can say I have.

    Now I have!

    Southern China next year methinks.

You know this part of the world then?

^ A little. Travelled through China 7 times on business, a few years ago. It must have changed a huge amount since then.

Take care & look for a warm sleeping dictionary - they are a necessary evil over there.

Got my wife with me. She's Chinese-Thai and so gets on with the language better than I do. Tones and all that!

China is changing a lot, for better and for worse. That's one reason I came here, to try and see a bit of the gaff before it changes too much for ever.

Holidays coming up and we'll get down south. Maybe Fujian Province , maybe Guilen / Nanning way. Any recomendations?

I loved Sichaun Province. Cooking was out-of-this world. Nice people, reasonable hotels.

Might give that puppy a try. I've got a four week hol coming up. Time enough to see a little of two provinces I reckon.

    Happy days!

PS sorry, I just like that icon.

It doesn't, as such, belong in this thread, me being an old married father of one and all!
