Just want to introduce my self and let everyone know that i enjoy reading TD and all the different threads. Keep up the good work.
As i will be living there full time as of next year i find alot of the information helpful. Keep up the good work

I am currently living cairns Qld Australia. I have brought in to a townhouse in ban chan that me and my partner are currently turning into a bar. I will be trying to get a job in construction or mining when i get there, as this is what i do here in Australia. I have a gf that lives in pattaya that i have a 3 year old son with. This is the reason i want to live in thailand, that and i love the life style. Will probaly look to maybe live some where in pattaya or rayong. Not sure yet.

I worked in the straits for a while too , on darnley Is and club mud ( boigu Is ) beautiful place. What was your job there.

Crikey...Been to Darnley and club mud many a time. In fact used to love going to club mud to buy the souveniers from PNG as they came over in the canoes.

Been to all the islands many a time and even several uninhabited ones.

Let me guess....for a whitey to be living there...school teacher or nurse.

My job was flying around the straits from island to island to island to island and so on.

Nah mate worked as a contract plumber for J & J Resources Installing septic tanks and toilets to the locals houses. I got there in december 2000.
Had a lot of fun up there. good fishing and diving.

I grew up in Home Hill, just south of Townsville, but spent a couple of years at school in Cairns back in the early 70s. It was a great place back then, especially Trinity Beach where I spent quite a few weekends.
