    Lurker Legitimised

Posted this yesterday but it vanished. Maybe it was something I didn't say? Well anyway, I like timber. A nice solid hardwood door sounds good to me. So, after lurking for a while, I thought I should do the right thing and scribble my name down.

Ah... when does the door get shipped? Do you pick-up the cost of freight as well? Do you get much demand from native Americans or Innuit? (A nice solid door would look good on a teepee or an igloo.)

Well anyway, I suppose my last post may have disappeared because I didn't say enough (unless, of course, it pops back up again). My only vice is that I am a packet a day smoker. I am an old b#%tard from the sunburnt country and live there during its spring and summer and in Phuket during Au's autumn and winter. Did I mention that I am not particularly fond of the cold? Strange, really, because I (used to) love alpine skiing. Oh, and I never drink alcohol (unless I happen to be having a cigarette).

Now you know more about me than I know about myself.

Sorry Flash - didn't see your query. Yes, according to the board, I have variously been from Bangkok, Chiangmai, Hua Hin and a handful of other places. (I must be getting old - I don't remember visiting all those places within the past 24 hours.)

    Thanks Keda.

Thanks King... I assume you are referring to the India/Australia fiasco? Yep, not good at all. Next move is probably down to the ACB (Australian Cricket Board). We are all waiting with baited breath...

Thanks Thetyim. Why Ping? Boring story, but I'll tell you anyway. (Don't go to sleep - I'll be asking questions later).

It's a nickname I've had for years. I was on a fishing trip with a group of mates at a place called Grantville in Victoria (Australia) and we were roughing it. We decided to kip overnight in a caravan park. So after we recci'd the pub, we sat down at a bench at the caravan park and decided that a few bottles of Jimmy were too heavy.

I was half pissed when I picked up a pamphlet that was lying on the bench. (It was about the park and the do's and don'ts.) The top of the note read 'ping on the ground.'. I read it out to the others and said, 'What the f#ck does "ping on the ground" mean?'

Someone grabbed it and turned it over. The bottom of the other side said, 'Do not leave any dog drop-' Thereafter, I was 'Ping'. (Better than being called 'Dogshit'.)
