Welcome to da board.

I would also like to thank Jet G, Mid, sharon, and jizzybloke for their most warm welcome.
Teak Windows, whatever works I always say.
Jet (and others), I've been living in Thailand for a couple of years now. Working on some educational projects and developing a small business...though that's still in the works and planning department.
I've been to about five countries in Asia, namely Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Burma, and Malaysia. It's been exciting to experience it all for the first time.
I love to play games, especially on the computer in my free time.![]()

Greetings, Told Stool and welcome.

Loombucket and Mr G.
I was wondering where I might be able to find any information on mushroom hunting in Thailand, if there is such a thing. Has anyone ever been mushroom hunting in this country before?![]()

Pilot Lands Copter to Pick Mom Mushrooms
Fri Nov 16, 2007
BANGKOK — A Thai air force pilot has been suspended from flying duties after allegedly landing his helicopter in the countryside to collect wild mushrooms for his mother, a spokesman said Friday.
The air force ordered the provisional suspension and began investigating after villagers in the western province of Kanchanaburi reported the incident to police, said spokesman Capt. Monthon Satchukorn.
Monthon said villagers said that a helicopter had circled a jungle clearing Wednesday before landing, and when some of them went to investigate, they found that the pilot had gone.
When the pilot eventually returned, he told them he had been collecting mushrooms for his mother.
"The pilot will face punishment for abandoning his helicopter without anyone to look after it and also for violating other rules," Monthon said.

something you want to tell us ???![]()
Hi there Mr Stool. No experience picking mushrooms in thailand. I've had some memorable ones in Bali though...![]()

Wellcome aboard told stool...

Thanks forreachingme for the welcome.
Mid, that is an interesting story. Probably would have been me in a different lifetime. I do have a passion for mushrooms.
I'm wondering though, Tao and DrAndy, what kind of mushrooms you have found here and in Bali.
I grew mushrooms from a Shiitake mail-order kit once. Had the best Japanese Shiitake mushrooms ever on that cake. Also grew grocery store mushrooms a couple of times. Had great yields.
I did a bit of googling for mushroom hunting in Thailand but didn't really find anything. For that matter, I'm wondering if there are any organized special interest trips like this.
welcome stooly, i did some mushrooms oncei,m scared now

I just bought a trio of mushrooms wrapped in cellophane and black styrofoam from TOPS Supermarket. I'm hoping to put some in some salad, and maybe saute some others. I have no clue as to what the names of the mushrooms are. Enoke may be one of them if I can remember what the enokes look like.
Back into the gardening forum...

There are mushrooms everywhere in Thailand. I knew a farang who lived on the mtn above the lighthouse in Haadrin. He came into the village to a beach bar near Tommy's Bungalows once a month for a few bang lassis. We reckon it took him two weeks to crawl back home, another ten days to recuperate, and then a few days to get his sh*t together to come back to the beach for another round. Good mushrooms, I guess.

Welcome Told stool.
