    Hi,

    Just arrived and wondering:

    1) Where can I find a a place to stay in the Land of Smiles?
    2) Where is the best place for a teaching job?
    3) How spicey is Thai food?
    4) Are there any good places to drink cheap whiskey in Bangkok?
    5) I have 80.000 pounds on me. Can I find a girlfriend who will respect me for my mind with this amount of dosh?
    6) Will one Lonely Plannet be enough, or should I bring multiple copies.
    7) Where is the best place to fix my Birkenstocks and repair my backpack?
    8) Can I crash on your couch until i find a 60,000 baht job in Thailand?
    9) Why do people keep saying that Thai is a tonal language?
    10) Can find a proper English breakfast in rural Isan?

    Greetings! Err....If you really have that much dosh on you I suggest that you open a bank account and get it out of your pocket. Find yourself some 'nice young lady' and she will keep all the others away untill you can find your feet. Not all Thai food is spicey, but most of it is well above what you may be used to. In my experience, Rough guide is better than lonely planet. Yes, full English is available in Issan but you will need an interpreter, and a good map. Welcome to the LOS, enjoy.

    I lost me lips during the war due to scurvy.
    I can still drink Guiness though, especially on Wednesday.
