Hi Mowgli, welcome to TD.
Here's my guess- Mowgli is Hindi or Bengali for bear. Bear is then misspelt to beer?

This is good! DD is the closest...... methinks he actually knows me! But even if they are the names of bars, pubs and cafe's in Pattaya/Jomtien I have owned, they're not directly connected to the cartoon character. Why do I nickname myself after said character?

Thoroughly enjoying this site so far..... some great threads and some very witty folk on board!
BTW, I first came to Thailand in 1988 as a member of the Asian Elephant Specialist Group/World Wildlife Fund Elephant Management Conference in Chiang Mai. Why? Because I worked in Zoos and Wildlife Parks training Asian Elephants and have a huge interest in managing their conservation in the wild.......... hence the nickname! Beer to me!

The original Kipling character was Toomai..... of the Elephants. Changed to Mowgli by Disney. But anyway, don't you remember Mowgli's friend Col. Hathi and his herd?
