Hello:
Have been reading and enjoying Teak Door for awhile, so I want to now introduce myself. Really appreciate this excellent source of hands-on information about so many aspects of Thailand from an expat view. And the pictures are terrific.
My home is in the San Francisco Bay Area and have been married to a Thai wife for quite a long time. I have a Thai stepdaughter age 13. I love my family.
We own a popular Thai restaurant which has proved to be very successful. When we started this enterprise, I did not expect how well it would be received. It is packed almost every evening, with many nights having people lined up outside waiting for a table to open up. Lunches are also crowded most of the time. My wife is an excellent chef (with three other chefs assisting her), and we have apparently managed to put together the ingredients to give our customers a good dining experience. I am in charge of the front end of the business (the dining room), wine & beer and the business end of our enterprise. We are always looking for new ideas to try out, so we appreciate any suggestions.
We travel to Thailand about every three or four months, and own a condo in BKK and a home in Nakon Nayok where my mother/father-in law lives. Eventually, when we have decided to not work or get totally fed up with the nasty politics (too many socialists) and other negatives of daily life in America, we'll move over to LOS permanently.
Have a website for our restaurant, but as a newbie, I am unable to post a link to it. If you are inclined, you can visit it at (you will have to type it in your computer) topthaicastrovalley.com
Any feedback is appreciated. Please realize that it is a homemade website made by an amateur (me) so it is not perfect by any means of measurement. I do have my adult son who is a professional in computer things working to improve it, so hopefully it will get better in time. Suggestions on this also much appreciated.
Thanks Teak Door!
Greg
