Thread: Good stuff!

Sabang: Yes, I am on a few boards. Been reading and lurking since the late 90's. Back then it seemed to be only a couple. Now it seems to be nearly a dozen. Which isn't bad, except I can't access most on the ship due to content.

Which leads to the ship question. Military, carrys green guys who go ashore and do their thing. Small city of 1000 actually. Been here a year and have one left. My third ship in the pacific so that's where I got to go to places like...

Noumea: Small French run island. AC, you may be right on the exact definition. New Caledonia I think? We stopped for a 2 day port visit I believe it was late 2001 on the way back form Sydney. The place had 1 casino which seemed to be about it. Very little english spoken and boy they were proud of it. Ton's of Japanese tourists which seemed funny because until we stopped there most of us had never heard of it. We had a reception on board the ship and usually they were pretty good affairs. Free food, shrimp, beer and wine with the fleet band palying.

This time however, it was a bunch of them standing on one side, and the rest of us on the other. Tried mingling but I guess our Paul Maisson wasn't up to their expectations!

I did find a small Korean place were I was able to drink my favorite liquid-soju! The owner taught Taekwondo in the day and the wife ran a shoppe at night. And, they were the most friendly and nicest people I met on the island. Cheap food and drink also brought out the young lasses and I drank my last few hours of liberty away with 2 beautiful 35kg french maidens.

It's funny, but every place I went that float had a Korean shoppe where I met some ladies and ended up sharing more good times. Most were girls who had traveled to increase their oral English skills. And of course, being a specialist in the oral arena I was happy to help them!
