    My Profile

My biggest concern is my age: at 71, am I employable in Thailand? I retired from a California high school 2 years ago after 21 years of teaching Spanish. I earned a BA in English Linguistics/ESL with a minor in Spanish from Fresno State University in California. Prior to that, I taught ESL to adult Mexican,Thai, Lao, Hmong and Indian immigrants for 10 years. I lived in Madrid, Spain for 4 years in the late 70's where I attended the Complutense University and taught English in a number of private academies. In addition to Spain, I have lived in Sweden, Mexico and Viet Nam and am very much open to living in other cultures and learning new languages. I am a divorced man, in good health, and foresee myself working until at least the age of 75.

^^ there are age limits for teachers I believe, certainly in government schools but private schools may make exceptions - but would be hard to get a work permit I think. Maximum age is 65? Dunno if TD has any people in similar circumstances....

Up my way there are age limits. At the local uni everyone must retire at age 60. It requires a special dispensation to work after that.
School ads will often say not older than 50.
