welcome nutsy
A jolly old warm welcome to you. Bring all the books you can manage . And Lemsips .
Not another POM!!!! Just joking, all the best for you and the missus.
Good luck mate, i'll be there one day.
Good luck with your endeavours Nutsy. You seem a humorous bloke. Always when I hear of someone starting out on a Thai adventure, I do get the feeling I should be making of an effort to be there myself! All the best!

They need the mobile to talk while they are on their mopeds. How often do you see a female on a motor-bike not using her phone?
And welcome Nutsy. I had some good times in Ashford but that was in the sixties when I was young and handsome. Now I am just .......well whatever.

Welcome aboard! You will like it here and Thailand. Lots of interesting Ex-pats ditto Thailand. Good luck with the move. As previously stated take it nice and slow no rush in the land of smiles.
I would get a Multi entry non O visa from Hull before coming to live i Thailand. Ed visas are not that easy to get anymore.
Barry
The basic thing is to bring a lot of money! You will be inundated with "relatives". Bring your golf clubs. Hook up with other ex-pats in various Golf Bars. Get ready to sweat!
Hey Nutsy, good luck. I curious about "the voice" I couldn't stand it if my lady talked like a drill sargent. Is that what she's like?
Well you can kiss all that goodby with the exception of the working girls. Then again they are not in your neighborhood they have their own special part of town.
If you ever decide you really really want the good life give us here in Chiang Mai a try.
Welcome and may good luck bless you

Like everyone else said welcome to the land of blind drivers I'm from Greenwich but sepnt lot's of time in Kent, New Romney to be exact.
Damn, you make the UK sound way worse then when I left it!!!
Here I am trying to get back there with the laziest little chef in Thailand so my daughter can get 'an education'. (As Thailand doesn't have one at all!! I teach here! Scary!)
Either way stay away from the relatives, cops, politicians, tourist areas...blah, blah ,blah and you'll do just fine. Good luck fella and enjoy.
