If it was ABS you'd feel it on the foot peddle.
And if there's a fault with it l? Just a thought like

I'll get it check as it's possible i suppose.

Incidentally, i noticed this morning while driving with the windows down and slowing down to approach lights, the sound of squelching was reflecting of the barrier on the road. So i'm wondering if the disks could be warped and the squelching noise is being produced from the brake cylinders?

Either way, i'm of to the garage later.
    Probably the wisest move
    It wasn't me!

    yes?
The heat build up is in the pads as well.
When the brake pedal is held down whilst stationery, heat builds up in the pad contact area and can warp the disks

yep, thats right. it happened to me on two cars over here. and I only felt it at high speed braking.

What type of car was it JJ ?
Our work vigo has just been sent back with warped discs after just 60K yet my 2004 hilux has 180,000 klm on it and has never had a problem. I guess its the way the car is driven or the different quality of brake disc being used ?.
I am rough on cars and it suprises me that I havent faced a problem with the old truck.

^It's a Pajero sport. The car is only a year old and i had pads, but not disc changed just over 10k ago. I did request for both to be changed at the time but the engineer said there was no need.

This is the same mits garage that resprayed an area of my car 2 weeks ago which has already started to peel the lacquer.

    JJ

Drive along at say 60 kph and apply the hand/parking brake until you feel the vehicle slowing down then release the brake. If you feel the shudder then you have at least halved the problem between front and rear.

    Edit Sorry half asleep
