Running a straight through 2.5" system, only seems to get loud when you put the foot down.
We are going to up grade to a trust 4" intercooler
I did have a picture of the standard rods agaist the new ones but cant find it, heres a picture of the Wahl pistons installed.
And a picture of my old turbo that made 361HP next to the new housing that will be used.

What sort of turbo lag do you expect to get with a turbo that big?

Should be about the same as the smaller hybrid I had, thats why they make hybrid for quick spooling and higher boost, and matching the right exhaust turbine to make sure it will spool with the lest lag possible and still give enough boost.
If you stuck it on a standard engine it would be shit but seeing as I have a race manifold and straight out pipe, with large injectors and exhaust valves, cam, it will have enough to spool

I remeber Philip talking about a stroked engine at one stage and the pics of pistons and rods were sent to my old phone so no pics.

Glad to see the engine coming along so well. I may be through your part of the woods in late December. Would love to have you show my kids what a "muscle car" really is. Or truck as the case may be.

Saving that for last and only if I need a bit more on the drag strip, the little truck is already going to be real handful on the street, it was foking fast before at 361 HP and easly did 220 klm/h. 500 hp will be insane in such a light truck.

Yeh I am a Ozzie, Had a few street races when it was at 361 hp and nothing came near it, many of the trucks all decked out like a race truck dont have anything under the hood.
I had a guy in a new camry try and race me at the lights I just took of normaly and he floored it, Flew past him once I hit third and was miles behind behind by the time I topped out at 220 klm/h due to gearing.
There really isnt many cars around to race. One of the expats at my kids school has a new convertable BMW he is first on the hit list.
The new gearbox and diff will give me a top speed of about 236 klm/h at 4500 rpm, might increse RPM to 5000 rpm

No vids of the stage 3 but Philip might do one in a few weeks as I wont be back for another 4 weeks

the truck should go a whole lot better with the new gearbox I've never like my standard gearbox in my dmax good for towing that's it first and second completely unusable I thought you need a monster vr to increase rpm however I know you can get some other mystery box that can do rpm I just want to hear this thing
