Thread: Driving mishaps

Not necessarily Thailand …Driving Mishaps:
With due regard to the excellence of all Farang drivers in Thailand think it just might be fun to read some stories..Good, bad, lucky and downright stupid.



Here will start you off with one of of my many stories.


Heading West on the Trans Canada Highway just West of Winnipeg:
Barreling along at about 120mph in my Delta 88 4 barrel V8. Couple of hitch hikers on board.
Dual lane only in the sixties…line of cars coming toward me..one car pulls out to overtake coming straight at me…bit of a gravel shoulder so took to it …angled at 10 degrees or so… carried on nobody batted an eyelid..Me neither. If it happened today would have been dead methinks.

Oh before I forget..a humorous event:
Was following my mate in his Ford Pinto down the west coast of Newfoundland… on what at that time was a rock and gravel road.
I stopped for a pee. Jumped back into my Delta 88 and gunned it catch up.
No sign of him?
Drove up and down an hour or so…ah found him...Pinto in the Muskeg him sitting on the hood smoking…
Had a 100 metre coil of 200 pair telephone cable in the trunk..Great rope substitute.. Hauled him out and we were on the ferry in a couple of hours (another story there since my gas tank had been punctured by a rock...Lol)
