    Honda CG110, CG125, JX110, etc.

    Hello guys, I'm new here!

I'm living in BKK and looking to buy a motorcycle and not a big fan of scooters as i've ridden far too many in my life and would rather buy myself a Classic motorcycle with gears.
I am only going for a bike that has a green book as I don't want to take any risks. What i've noticed is that bikes with a green book are always more expensive than the bikes without a green book.

So what i'm looking for is something along the lines of an SR250/400 refurbished and clean, but I found out that these with a green book usually do come at a higher price (atleast 80,000 / 100,000 shiny and clean), maybe a bit modified but still wouldn't be exactly look like what i'd want and I would probably still be spending more on it.

So by coincidence I found this classic light motorcycle dealer in Bangkok that sells completely refurbished Honda CG110s, CG125s, JX110x etc. (but slightly used engine) with green book for under 30,000 THB.
He has a CG110 in stock which I quite like and I think I might be able to negotiate it down to 25,000. I'm just worried that the 110cc might be a bit too low.

    My questions are:

    - As he also does modifications on bikes. Should I ask him to remove the 110cc original Honda engine and replace it with a brand new 200cc Lifan engine?

    - Or should I just buy the CG110 as it is and buy one of those big bore cylinder kits for 3200 THB + bigger carburator 1200 THB that can upgrade it to a 150cc?

    - Or simply go for another bike?

I'm a bit confused here, i've been looking for a classic/cafe type of bike for quite some time now and the brand new Chinese versions don't really appeal me. Now I found this bike which is exactly what i'm looking for by "looks" but it's the 110cc engine that i'm worried about. Just the engine i'm worried about.

And what do you guys think about that price for a completely refurbished, painted with new parts but slightly used engine CG110 for 28,000 THB? I want to negotiate it down to 25,000 though, for sure. But not sure if this is a good price or not. I understand it's a classic though, and a photo of the bike would probably be a bit helpful to judge that part but can't post it yet as I have new member restrictions.

Personally, I would not bother with swithching engines. Honda engines last a long time and they are cheap tp repair along with everyone being able to work on them.

You should be able to find a 150cc bike for around 30000 baht which will give you more power without having to make any modifications.
