Good picking. And of course it was powered by a rotary engine.

What a focking abortion of a monstrosity that thing was!

^The "Wankel?" Great engineering invention the rotary, but a bit of a bugger to maintain. Aptly named.

I love me a good Wankel.

In a light-bodied Mazda though not a huge ruddy monstrosity like that. Owned an RX2 for a while until it met an untimely demise when I thought I was a rally driver.

Nope, but I owned one of them as well.

Can't say that I've ever seen one do a burnout though. Gawd knows I tried enough times with mine.

    It is indeed.

Didn't think it would be that hard to guess, it's my fucked up RX2 that I'd referenced in the post immediately prior to posting it.

^very interesting car. The 13B Wankel was a cool engine.
Premiers were shipped to Japan without engines, and Mazda fitted a 1.3-liter 13B Wankel engine into the bay
The USA got the Mazda RX7 with the 13B engine.

    So which country didn't get a 13B engined RX7?

Who knows? I have no idea what the worldwide demographic of the RX7, which was a very popular car in the the USA.
The 12A Wankel made it's debut in a small coupe the RX2 for the USA market. It was a pretty nice car.

It was more of a comment about the big saloon having the 13B engine.

    ^mighty similar indeed!

I always thought GM and Mazda were separate corporations.

    Apologies Earl,
I was having an old person's moment. Live and let live etc.... Liked the RX7 in all its guises, and some of the hybrid's - like the Roadpacer - were "interesting"....

Carn't believe i got the rx2 wrong, another look showed it was easy.
Even the tyre smoke was a giveaway,a 180b could not pull the skin off a rice custard.
Would of liked to drive that holden with the rotary, light weight, would be interesting to see it matched against one with a v8 for road performance

    is it my turn again...

Another very interesting car way ahead of it's time:

Super duper bonus points if you can identify the two aircraft in the background.

The car is easy, its a chrysler airflow from 1935 or 6.

No idea about the aircraft, but i think the lady in the fur is called muriel.

    Close enough,

    The car a 1934 DeSoto

The aircraft near Muriel A Waco cabin biplane

The aircraft way in the back I'm pretty sure is a Stinson Reliant
