I can see used cars from 2023 holding their value in the years to come.
What an absolutely pile o' poop that shiz is.
Will people be allowed to be free and have fun at all by the year 2030.

Good looking rig, hopefully K'Boss will be cruising the 7 motorway in one !
After a week or so I am used to the high tech car, at least, high tech to me, and it's a very easy drive compared to my 17 year-old Vigo.
I've discovered how to switch off the 'Lane assist'. You can't permanently disable it but have to turn it off at the start of each trip. The daughter is usually sitting alongside me so she has learnt the menus... temperature, radio volume, station change etc. She can link her phone with Bluetooth, etc etc, none of this really interests me.
I do wonder why I need a permanent display of the 'energy flow' on the dash? That holds no interest to me whatsoever.
I guess the cameras when reversing, and constant warnings of any close objects are useful, but I've always managed without.
Yesterday I noticed that all the warnings suddenly disappeared while reversing, and this is the danger of becoming reliant on all this tech. The wall was obviously below the sensors which would have quite happily allowed me to reverse into it.
I drive over to Great Yarmouth tomorrow and it will be a comfy 250 mile drive in this car but overall I'd prefer my no tech Vigo.
This 'gadget' can be overridden at the discretion of the driver. Is this correct?
I have been using a speed limiter on my cars for years and like them most of the time. It stops lapses in concentration causing you to break the limit and getting fined. Mine works in one of two ways according to the settings in the menu. I can turn it on and off and set the limit manually, which is the way I use it...or...you can set it to limit speed based on traffic sign recognition, setting 0, +5, or +10 Km/Hr w.r.t. the limit.
The problem with the traffic sign auto setting is that there are speed limits based on time (night noise abatement speed limits) and based on vehicle type. The sign recognition picks these lower restrictions every time.
There are times when you have to cancel the limiter for safety (steering wheel cancel button), which I assume must be available on new cars.
I use the limiter all the time when driving in urban areas and road works. I'd prefer to have a couple of customisable buttons, say 60kph and 90kph, that allow it to be set quicker, but that's about it.
I've even got used to the auto engine kill when stationary for Euro 6 engines.
My understanding is that it prevents the car exceeding rhe speed limit picked up by the cars cameras from the road signs displaying the speed limit. To turn them off involves delving deep into complicated menus on the infotainment system and they need cancelling every time the car is started.
Should you need to exceed the limit in order to say take evasive action in order to avoid an accident, you will not be able to. It takes control away from the driver, similar to the sudden tug on the steering wheel when the cameras sense the centre line is about to be crossed, or the sudden application of the brakes when it senses proximity to another vehicle.
These systems are becoming increasingly intrusive and as with all electronic systems are prone to failure and take control away from the driver.
What will get that thing moving? Wood?
Anyway, the car above is the RB 17. Designed by British engineer Adrien Newey. 1.3 horsepower per kilogram. It creates 1.7 tons of downforce while weighing 900 kg. It is slightly faster in the corners than todays F1 cars
Looks amazing

Couldn't decide whether to put this in the abandoned car thread.
Appears nature is having a good go at reclaiming this vehicle, so that's the make and model??
It might be completely gone this time next year..
