    Suzuki Ertiga

Ertiga : Specification | Suzuki Motor (Thailand) Co., Ltd.

does anyone own one of these ?
    or driven one ?

what is the driver comfort like for a 6 foot person ?

they seem to have a faair bit of space inside especially if you removed the rear seats.

If you torture data for enough time , you can get it to say what you want.

    ^should've bought an Izuzu.

    ^^ buy an Izuzu.

For Thailand, Balders? Suzuki seem to have improved a lot in Thailand over the last few years. I don't know that vehicle, but the brand seems to be decent, and that car's a good price for what you get.

The Honda Freed is quite a bit more:
    Honda Freed (?????? ????) MUV 7 seat (?????????? 7 ???????)

The Toyota Avansa is similarly priced to the Suzuki and decent:
Price & Grades - Avanza - Toyota Motor Thailand Co.,Ltd.
    Cycling should be banned!!!

like all these decorated pickups, its no more than an overpolished turd.

a pick up is white goods, nothing more, like a washing machine or fridge.

a basic utility vehicle, built to be used and abused, beaten and thrashed by its owner to within an inch of its life, not to be smeared with lipstick, high heels and injected with silicone in an effort to make it something it was never intended to be, other than a reflection of its owners personality.

the little suzuki seems like a practical family vehicle, a little ugly, but when the owner is driving, he wont be looking at it, so it doesnt really matter.

Sure they are utility vehicles, well spotted tax, but with development in engines, auto gearboxes, soundproofing and suspension, they have become much more than that, name one thing (apart from parking in smaller spaces and fuel economy) a newer top model 4 door pickup in Thailand cant do as good or better than a similar priced/ (engine no chance) Thai sedan and I will name a host of things they do better.

Within the normal legal speed range, even brisk running, they are as quiet and as comfortable as many a sedan, usually they are faster within the normal driving rev range with much more diesel torque for speed changes under running.

They have (Isuzu - front and rear camera, navigation, hands free bluetooth connect to phone, connect to ipods and memorysticks etc.) electric this and that, infact more or same level of standard equipment, ABS and anti spin systems are standard on many, as is multiple airbags, nice leather interiors etc.

They are stronger in every way, coping better with diverse Thai road conditions, including potholes, flooding, wrong chambered speed-bumps and driveways accesses, high curbs ect.

They give a better overview of traffic due to higher seating position, can hold much more people (all not in same comfort granted) carry much more luggage and equipment.

They can if needed go places no normal car can. 4WD, reduction gear, ground clearance etc.

Easier to get in and out of especially for the elderly, nothing more embarrassing than seeing an old Man trying to climb out of his low sports-car in a dignified fashion.

With the newest generations of ladder-chassis based pickups and SUV's on the way, they will address the leaf-spring thing.

IMHO pickup's like the newest model Ranger, Isuzu, Mazda are without contest the best value for money vehicles you can buy in Thailand.

At home we have a Toyota Vios, and a 4 door pickup, it is no contest which one I prefer both for short and long trips. with a 16.000 thousand bath tweak giving 210-up horsepower, and 420 NM, I dust 2 liter Civics, 2,4 Camrys and the like all day long.

But if it is a small people carrier you need, sure I agree the Suzuki will undoubtedly do the job just fine.

And the wheel arch styling is hideous.

^yeah, but did you see the stripe on the bonnet and the lovely leather seats?

Tax, yes and no. The trucks have come closer to cars and are often dual purpose; sometimes you may do some pickup duties and be on dodgy country roads. At other times, you might have the family in for a weekend trip and want comfort. So, nowadays, the pickup/ute is not a pure utility vehicle.

    That's the point in Thailand.

I was looking to upgrade the Honda City a while ago. A nice pickup, 4 door, good equipment, was 800,000 to 850,000 baht. You can't get a car for under 1 million or even 1.2 or 1.3 that's comparable.

Great! So you can look like a twat and leave bits of skin on your seats!

Of course, everyone knows I like my truck, but I'm amazed at the number of positive comments from people (Thai and western, Known and unknown) about my truck when they see it. In their defense, it must be quite a shock to see a truck with actual colour and one that is nicely styled and well looked after.

I was going to get an Ertiga because over the years I have had good experience with Suzuki going all the way back to 1987.

Good power from a 1.4l and has space etc. Sure it's a cheap car but...

But in the end bought another Carry, so the staff can load stuff in the back without ruining the interior.
Better to think inside the pub, than outside the box?

But not hard to pull 380hp/750lb·ft out of them which is about the only good thing.

According to friend of mine who have owned Ertiga said Ertiga is an economical fuel efficient car. I checked on some review from Suzuki Indonesia through this site (used Google translate) also said Ertiga put efficiency at 16.02kpl. Well, need to get one for daily use

I bought an Avanza as the chicky babe's shopping trolley and I am very impressed

I have had 6 adults in it and pushed it from 70-80 kph to 100-120 quick enough - overtakes fine

Picked up a new Ertiga Friday. Supposed to be a 2016. Trying to confirm the model year using the chassis number, but no luck. When I put in the VIN into an online decoder comes up invalid.

Tires were made in April 2016. Seat belts May 2016. Assembled in Indonesia. That is all I know so far. If the car was assembled shortly after the seat belts were made, then we are talking about a car sitting in inventory for maybe 10 months. Not sure how I feel about that.

I posted this on another forum, but only one response which helped me on the tire date. Anyone know how to decode the VIN on a Suzuki Ertiga assembled in Indonesia? There is a chassis, engine, and built number. From what I have read need to decode chassis number to determine the model year. I've tried several different online decoders with no success. Decoders say check sum is not correct and the 10th digits which is suppose to be the model year is not valid.

Based on the tires and seat belts, it is a 2016. But if it has been sitting in inventory for 9 months or more, not sure how I feel about that and if even I could do anything about it.

    Thanks.
