it can be cleaned and the dry-cleaner makes it bright white again...
not sure, if its the mosquitos, sometimes white leather darkens a bit, by dust in the air and so... other colors do too (loose their brightness), because the dirt gets easily caught in the leathers structure, but with other colors they just look dull, the white gets a bit yellowish...
but its easy to clean and dry-cleaner makes it as new...
its worth it - because it looks awesome...
ways better than all black or some blue...
though not sure about the combination with an orange ktm...
IMO useless in Thailand. The main danger here is getting run into by a drunk truck driver. Nice looking stuff though
Useless? Are you kidding? Do you actually ride a sportbike? This gear will ideally let me walk away relatively unscathed from a high-side or low-side. It would also help me survive getting hit by a car way more that your T-shirt and flip-flops will help you survive the same situation (though I plan to do most of my riding in uncrowded roads in the daytime which will hopefully let me avoid most of the hazards of dealing with other drivers). It's more likely I'll cause my own accident by misjudging or over-cooking a corner (or sliding on debris or oil), and I want to be prepared for that.
I've been riding over a decade in LOS, and I have a pretty good idea as to the dangers here.
You don't have to be a downer all the time, Lorenzo.![]()
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.
HST
I reckon this helmet suits that get up better.

thats the 7-11 helmet to get 100% discount...
Is anyone else thinking Teak Doors New Years Honours List for gay thread of 2012 ? :-)
FS, all that armour but that place between your head and shoulders still looks vulnerable. I dont think you will feel the gravel burns with a broken neck
Nice ass though
You mean to say this isn't for track days only ?
Fcuk me Valentino Rossi wears less than you riding in the Moto GP and GI's go to war wearing less body armour
I wear a lightweight armoured jacket, jeans, boots and a decent lid.
Ridden all over Thailand and it isn't as dangerous as you seem to think it is. It is as dangerous as you make it![]()
Treat everyone as a complete and utter idiot and you can only ever be pleasantly surprised !
protection in the jacket back and pants etc is normal today...
a protection shirt is good... can also be used just with a sweatshirt when going offroad or so...
essential are boots, cloves, helmet... the rest is much up to luck, what damage is done, but protective shields help a lot...
i must say, i find the pants even more important than the jacket, if there was a ranking...
knees are in big danger...
Nice looking gear Failsafe. And please go for the BMW the other 2 bikes mentioned IMO are just plain ugly!
Cheers
I think riding in general is dangerous- I would gear up anywhere I was going to be riding a big, fast bike hard through a twisty road. Jeans are useless in a crash- if you wear an armored jacket, helmet, and boots, we're not really that far apart except for the pants, so I don't really understand your attitude in this post- if you happen to crash and you hurt your knee or lose skin off your ass, you would wish you were better protected.
The best riders I know wear the best gear- they don't plan to crash, but they always dress for a crash- if you knew you were going to have an accident on your bike, would you wear your best gear? Of course you would- instead, you seem to ride thinking you won't crash, or that your light gear will be sufficient- that attitude might sustain you for years... until the day it doesn't. Giving another rider grief for being as protected as possible tells me something about your riding ability- good luck with your choice, but how you choose to protect yourself (or not) doesn't give me any second thoughts on the decisions I've made.
I've hit the pavement in less-than-optimum gear before- it wasn't fun, and I don't plan to do it again.

I really like the ZX-14R- yeah, it ain't pretty, but the power and electronics are amazing- I'm just not sure it's worth 200K more than the Hayabusa- I've ridden both (though the 14 I rode was a couple years old and not the 2012 model) and they fit me very well.
I haven't ridden the BMW yet- I'm not sure I'll like the ergos, and I'm also not sure I want another pure sport-bike (plus it's very pricey)- I need to check one out, but I don't know if they'll let me take it for a test-ride.
Like I said earlier, I'm putting the cart before the horse- I need to finalize some stuff before I can justify the purchase of any of them.![]()
Looks fiendishly hot to wear in this climate. What's wrong with cut-offs, a wife beater and some flip flops?
Yup, it's on the warm side- I just decided that I need to properly protect myself- I want to do what I like, but I also don't want to incapacitate myself if I can avoid it- bikes are dangerous- act accordingly.
I knew full well the grief I would take with this thread.![]()
you will be soon pissed here, and move back to the USA... still having kept your luxury body, the clothes will fit there as well...
^ Nearly 1000 posts in 2 months and I honestly have no idea what your on about 99% of the time.
^
It is kind of strange- I don't know whether to be flattered or frightened... or both.![]()
Anyone who posts gay as you like pictures of themselves on a forum like you did and doesn't expect the piss taken is an idiot. I have been riding bikes since I was 8. I am now 51. I spent 18 months riding all around Thailand and felt far safer riding here than I ever did riding back in the UK. I have had every type of bike you can think of. I got out of my sports bike stage after the R1. I know have 6 bikes from a Nouvo up to the Rocket 3 which for me is the best bike I have ever owned.
I take my safety here serious and wear a helmet at all times and the jacket etc when hitting the ring road here. Hitting the mainland I wear leather trousers but here on the island there is no need.
As said you left yourself wide open for some stick. You can't take some fun then youré a sad man indeed !

Your kit will be perfect for touring the Mae Hong Song Loop in winter, outside of that your balls will fall off due to being boiled alive in the heat.
Much better to be well protected though. Good move.
I'm not talking about riding on Samui, you nitwit- I would have thought that was obvious. So now you DO wear equivalent gear to what I have, yet you had some stupid shit to say previously (just like always on TD, and just like on TV before you joined here). It's good to know that the roads on Samui are padded and you don't have to worry about hurting your lower body if you crash so there's no need for extra protection (even though it has the highest accident rate in the Kingdom- I guess the roads are only hard enough to damage tourists, and chubby locals on big bikes are immune... is it any wonder you're not taken seriously?)
Yes, it's gay to post pics of the gear that I previously posted a thread about when I was still in the planning stages- it seemed fair enough to post pics of it- let's see you in your gear, fat boy- oh wait, you find pics of a fully-clothed (with his face covered as well) man 'gay'- that says something about you, I think...
Oh, you owned some bikes? Really? So have I- so have a lot of people on this forum- that doesn't make you a decent rider (especially on your 800lb cruiser- I've ridden a Rocket III- it has power, but it's a pig). First you said my gear was overkill and tried to be the voice of authority by saying Thailand's roads aren't that dangerous (though my eleven years of driving and riding here say different) and that I was taking my safety too seriously, then you said you basically wear the same stuff (except on Samui, which I never mentioned, and, in fact, neither did you when you first posted)- now you're claiming to take it just as seriously (again, except on Samui). You're a really impressive guy- got anymore contradictory advice?
The bottom line is you talk a lot of stupid shit, then cry like a bitch when you're called out on it- here's a tip- you're not 'funny'- you're an idiot.![]()
