^ thanks for the suggestion; I'll get the missus to look into it. We're in the scoping out process, likely to install within the next 2 weeks or so.

My wife was talking about LPG the other day. We have a 3.0 D Toyota Prerunner. Has anyone had a system fitted to one? What was the cost? I do mostly town driving, and I'm currently spending around 2500bht a month on fuel, so a 50% saving would be good.

Cost is about 60,000 baht but you won't save 50% because it runs on diesel & lpg.
So savings will be 25% or less

They are having a very aggressive promotional campaign and costs are around the same as above.
I got a standard tank (70 odd litre) put in the other month and the missus didn't like it (even though we had the same one in our previous car!) and the dudes at Energy-Reform were happy to strip it out and replace it for a donut tank for only 1,500 baht extra.
This is the company my wife said she will use.

^ yep, the missus has been on loads of Hond City forums and the FOBOS place/system/thing comes out well, but I'm open to other suggestions such as Bogons; I asked the missus to check that one out too.

    Okay, thanks for that.
Maybe I won't bother, but it certainly seems worth it if you drive a petrol car.

My missus done a shed load of research online (she does this with any major purchase we do and has always came up trumps) and found this company to have many genuine glowing reports about their product, knowledge and staff training etc etc.
What clinched it was that they have an open online forum where people can post uncensored reports, questions and the like with the company giving feedback and advice in a timely and professional manner.

^ that's a good car that is; I should've gone for it too really. My missus, being Thai, doesn't like hatchbacks (which I do), but a Focus hatchback looks very similar (much better, but similarish shape)to a Honda City to me...

Okay, the missus has done some ressearch and looks like we are going with Bogon's suggestion, there is a place in Bangkuntien which i very close to me.

We're gonna go for a normal tank, as the City has a very big boot. But, there are 3 or 4 different typres ranging from 26k to 35k; I'm happy to spend the money, but am wondering what the difference is; anybody got any ideas (I've put the lick below):

    1) Advanced OBD.
    1. หม้อลดแรงดัน (Pressure Regulator)
    2. หัวฉีดแก๊ส (Injector)
    3. ECU
    4. Auto Switch
    5. Multivalve
    6. Map Sensor

    2)

    2. หัวฉีดแก๊ส (Injector)

    4. Auto Switch

    Premium, Pro and Eco.

    Any thoughts/advice?

Actually, the missus has done more checking and there are better customer reactions to the Forbos, the other type, as suggested above has had some folks who needed to change the system to Forbos, especially Ford, Chevrolet and Hondas (these are the porblem cars for LPG according to the sites).

25,500 for the full singing and dancing installation with insirance. The missus is still checking...

Well, Betty isn't here at the moment but should you read it the wife and I opted for the "Energy Reform with advanced OBD" which was installed last Saturday. The guys at Quick Fit near 'The Circle' did a great job. It could be my imagination but the Mazda seems more responsive, not to mention the massive savings. Cost me 370 bht to fill the tank yesterday, I've done 120 and so far the gauge hasn't budged.

Worked out roughly my traveling costs have been reduced from approximately 9000k a month to a little over 2k.

We went for the donut version. I'd take photos but I can't be arsed.

^ Got the same system and tank as you JJ.

Think it may be something like 38 litres.
This is the 2nd LPG system fitted into brand new motors and my savings are offset pretty quickly.
Instead of spending 1,500 baht a week on fuel, I'm spending around 400. Making it round 25-27 weeks before I break even.
It actually works out quicker than that because I normally do a long journey (1,000KM round trip) every couple of months.

I drive on average about 20K a year, if anyone wants to do the maths.

    ^ & ^^ Thanks chaps.

    Quick Update

Got the Fobos, cost about 25,000 for a 40 odd litre tank, and it has been no problem at all in the last 6 months. Good savings as you guys have stated - fuel costs are halved. The missus has been driving to NN and back from Bkk quite often and she's very happy with it; saves plenty when stuck in Bkk traffic too.
