Muara Angke is a bit os swamp land in the north of the city right on the coast. It's got a walkway, a viewing tower which was closed last time i was there, some monkeys and snakes. also plenty of bird life



you can also hire a boat and go out to a nearby island which is good for birdwatching

forget trekking near chiang mai, check out the badui 4 hours from jakarta. these people make the amish look 22nd century.

two communities, inner which you can t visit and outer which you can. no roads, no transport, no mobile phones...no nothing. when they leave their villages they walk. and that means they walk to the nearest village, jakarta or bandung. everywhere they walk.
