    Tonsillitus And Tonsil Removal

I think I have tonsillitis yet again. Probably the 8th time in the last 2 years, and I'm thinking about having my tonsils removed.

Have any TD members had theirs removed in Thailand? If so, what hospital did you use and what were the costs, duration of stay, etc.?

What hospital do any members think would be the best option for this type of surgery, based on cost, quality of service, etc?

    Any info would be appreciated.

    Cheers

You could just go to somewhere like Yan Hee Hospital but make sure your lie upside down on the operating table.

I though having your tonsils removed isn't a sure-fire cure for tonsillitis?

It isn't when I was young had a lot of throat infections and tonsillitis. I was eating Bactrim DS tablets like they were candy.

Doctor had me tonsils ripped out and it made no difference. He noticed that my ears got blocked a lot. He taught me to gently hold my nose and GENTLY blow through my noise which unblocks the tubes between the ears and the nose/mouth/throat area.

Since he showed me I have never had tonsillitis. I still do it today and I know that if my ears or throat get that scratchy feeling that precedes getting an infection that if I ensure the tubes are unblocked I can avoid getting sick most of the time.

Technically, it is. But you can still get infections in the tissue around the area your tonsils were once in.
