Two Largest Websites for Expats in Thailand Announce Merger.

Teakdoor.com & Thaivisa.com are today proud to announce a total merger of their sites and memberships, thus producing the largest foreigner oriented website in Thailand.

A Teakdoor spokesman said, "We're glad to enter into this new partnership and look forward to reaping the benefits of the Thaivisa membership and of course the invaluable assistance of their moderators"

Meanwhile, a ThaiVisa spokesperson said, "It is a great step for both sites. We have seen our own membership stagnate over the years and it was necessary to undertake drastic restructuring to bring in fresh blood and quality articles for all of our members. We are pleased that terms have been agreed for this giant step forward."

It is understood that a period of transition will now be entered. Members of both sites will see a number of key changes. Both sides have a number of stated goals, including elimination of trolls and other trouble makers and a much stricter moderation regime.

A new site layout is expected to be launched soon, incorporating elements of both sites.

Yes, we do have a sense of humour and although moderation will be much stricter here from now on, we can all enjoy a laugh now and again.

If this carries on we will have to bring over more of our own moderators, we were hoping this transition period would be a lot easier.
