There are only a few places in town where she'd have to carry id. Q Bar, Bed, The Club KSR, Gullivers (possibly), the entrance to Silom soi 4, RCA or any of the after hours clubs. And as I said before, they will only be interested in the fact that she's carrying i.d and not her age.
^ how many blokes working the door would be able to convert 1991 ( shown on her ID ) to the thai calender year so as to determine what age she is ?

Never mind eh ?
Many places in Bangkok ID everyone, especially RCA and anywhere on Ekamai/Thonglor. It then depends on whether the doormen are paying attention to the date of births or not, sometimes they do and sometimes not.
If she looks 20 and is with people of legal age she probably wont have a problem, but it's possible some places might turn her away.
The legal age to buy alcohol is 18 but the legal age to enter bars/nightclubs is 20.
Whatever,
It's all down to the hopefully sensible people who'll be swanning around with the young lady, having a terrific time together and avoiding the pit falls.
Good luck to them all.
One of the best things about Thailand is that petty laws like a minimum drinking age are pretty much ignored. You do not have the same armies of intrusive governmental pricks here you do in most western countries.

^ I would think so, KW.
