The Jolly Frog in Kanchanaburi is a guesthouse, plus it has a restaurant on the main floor. The restaurant sits 200 people, and has an outdoor part by the river, plus an indoor closed, and air-conditioned area. I had the chance of eating there five out of six night for dinner.

Every evening, the place was packed with mostly foreign travellers. They are known for their Thai food, but also have very good International food such as pizza, steak, and home-made buns. The menu is close to 20 pages long. How's that for variety.

The Jolly Frog is known for their curries (red and green). They have excellent broiled fish that comes in a flaming fish stand (so hot and bubbly). I had lemon fish, and a friend had fish in green curry. The fish was so fresh, and delectably delicious (pics to follow).

When I was there, I tried the Sweet and Sour Vegetables with chicken, Tom Kha Coconut Soup, Lemon Fish, Pad Thai, and Fried Chicken with Thai basil-leaf and chillies. It was so hard to pick something off the menu, because of the variety of dishes.

Oh, the best part is the dessert. They make home-made Apple Pie. The crust just melts in your mouth, plus it comes with a side of creamy vanilla ice-cream. Almost as good as my grandmother's. They also have two Thai desserts, and a healthy fruit cake.

The prices are soo cheap. I'd say anywhere between 50-150 baht. The food was tasty, and fresh. If you are ever in the area, check it out. Here is the website.
