^ In the interim, you probably know already make noise when walking, stamp you feet a few time in your are going in in longer grass or under growth. To have that many snakes there must be a good food source near by. Re the compast heap be very careful, its ideal nesting material for snakes.

Judging by the frog chorus at night it's an all you can eat buffet for snakes ! That goes with having rice paddies over the back wall I guess.

Very attractive snakes those. I once had one in the house, hiding in the sofa, only found it because the dogs were going mental.
At this time of year we get a lot of snake activity, they follow the frogs. Usually it is the dogs who find them first. Recently we had a Copperhead racer then an Oriental ratsnake. They are feisty things, big too, non-venomous but very bitey. So far the dogs have gotten a few bites in but each time the snake has got away.
Over the last few years I have learned to keep the grass short around the house, which is quite a lot of work at this time of year and I usually accidentally chop up a few frogs that don't move quickly enough.
Also I reckon all the diurnal snakes around here are non-venomous. That said, I am cautious at dusk because there has been a Monocled cobra about and late one night I went out to check on the dog barking and he had found a Banded krait.
I am happy enough to let the snakes be, but the dogs hunt them down.

I used to have a few little green pit vipers in my garden. We'd only ever see them when the grass was cut and they would slither towards some bushes on the side or would sometimes be on the path.

The gardener would leave them be, but the owner told me they did once remove a fairly large python after the grass had been left for just a bit too long.

Definitely a wise idea to keep the grass cut short in Thailand.
I cannot see Manchester United’s aura ever evaporating certainly in my lifetime. They are just a core fundamental element of football. They sit at the top table with Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Liverpool, PSG etc. They are inevitable.

Never seen anything here other than harmless green tree snakes.

A monocled cobra would have me running, for sure - the most dangerous snake in the land.

I thought I was used to seeing venomous snakes after all my time in outback Australia. But I reckon the jungles of Lao had more, and Deadlier ones. Cobras in particular used to freak me the fuck out. but the locals would practically throw themselves on one to catch it for sale. In high demand amongst the Viet community apparently
Most people are Kunts.dont believe me? Next time you see a group of people. Shout out OI KUNT watch em all turn around.

The bats usually get mine once they start to turn peach coloured and give off the ripeness odour that carries for miles on the wind
