I think that if you live in Asia, investing on land is a sound investment. Its a great legacy to give to your kids, wife, and relatives.

Even with the agriculture sector down, I still see it as having loads of potential. Rice is a food staple in Asia. The Asian population is fast multiplying, but land doesn't, and people will always need food.
Could well be an agenda to get them to sell.

Ye funny how many don't understand that.

Its also funnier how people make comments on possible situations that they know nothing about.

Yup, that's a possibility, with cities and tourists areas running out of space, and becoming overpopulated.

New expansion areas are probably on the agenda.

May be he had Chanote titled land which is probably why he got the full value and so he should. But full value to who's valuation? What title was the land if not Canote because in theory, if not Chanote title then he didn't own it 100%? All info helps.

With bugger all else to do today I looked around on some property sites up north and the same unit in the same condo went for 7% higher than what I bought it for 11 months ago.

I'd need more fingers and toes (and a desire) to calculate that including the roi thus far.

I'll be looking to buy a house up there in the coming years, if anyone has one I'll be happy to pay what you paid for it 8 years ago.

have you sold them yet then.??

As mentioned earlier in the thread,it depends on location and what spec the condo is.

what did you pay again 375,000 baht.

I found it because we bought some un-titled land from a relative and where told we had to wait four years before we got the chanote.

Which we have now, they went around it by saying the relative where giving a gift to wife, something to do with the chanote charges.

If they said we where buying it we would of had to pay 16,000 baht but ended up paying 6,000 can't really remember all the details it was a mind field to understand.

Chico, you're going to put money into something at your age that won't be legally yours?

I guess my first question I would ask myself is: How much do I trust the wife and her family? Are they going to fuck me over when I put the money down with the land in their name?

If you can't remember the details, should you be investing?

That's the way I'd do it if I were them...after all he's called the cops on people before...I'm guessing there's at least one party that's learned...

Done and dusted, and expect to sell in the near future,to finance new home.

by the way I'd do the same again, and call the cops to get her daughter away from a piece of shit.
