A female Koel Bird
Starling
^ Oriental Pied Robin
I don't think it's an oriental magpie robin, Warwick. They have much more white underneath, covering the lower half of their bellies.
Magpie robins (male and female)
I think it is a pied bushchat (below).

Yes, it looks like a female pied bushchat, Troy. A nice photo of it too.
^ Always wondered what these birds were. Seen a few in my garden but never managed to get a photo. I don't see them until they are startled or have an obstructed view.
Thanks for the ident...lots of garden birds around that I would like an I'd on.
You've probably seen quite a few of these around your garden, Troy.
Scaly Breasted Munia.
I'll try Nev, but not easy for me. That munia above has no detail when I take a shot. In the garden, the dogs scare them away too easily. I have a week to see what I can manage.
Nice pic btw...
There is a nest with a pair of Scaly Breasted Munia in a native, shrubby tree beside the house. They look a boring brown from a distance but close up they are quite attactive.
When I pointed them out to the gf she told me her grandmother used to like them. It took a moment before I realised that her grandmother liked them to eat.
Isaan. What can one say?
