    Alfa Romeo 4C

The 4C was designed and engineered by Alfa Romeo and is built by Maserati in Modena, progressing from concept to reality in only 28 months.

When developing the 4C, Alfa Romeo focused on key targets: uncompromising driving pleasure, a kerb weight of no more than 900kg and supercar performance at an affordable price

Purists will cherish the fact that the 4C is rear-wheel drive, something Alfa hasn't offered since the 75 saloon, which was made until 1992 and was its last independently designed car before the company was acquired by Fiat.

The 4C is built around a carbon-fibre tub, which accounts for only 65kg of the 895kg total weight.
The rest of the structure is aluminium, while the engine also plays its part. It's a development of the 1,742cc unit used in the Giulietta Quadrofoglio Verde hatchback, but 22kg lighter thanks to being cast entirely in aluminium

The 4C's mid-engined layout means that there's a space for luggage at the rear of the car

The 1,742cc turbocharged four-cylinder engine provides strong acceleration. Peak torque of 258lb ft is available between 2,100 and 4,000rpm, and 80 per cent of that from only 1,800rpm

The interior features plenty of the bare carbon-fibre tub. The steering wheel is a chunky, leather-clad item with integrated paddle gear-shifters, while the remaining controls are grouped together on the tunnel console

In its heyday in the late 1970s, KAP supported the families of 5,000 workers. Now, with its workforce cut to a fifth, huge parts of the complex resemble a ghost town, blanketed in dust and suffocated by debts of more than 380 million euros ($513 million). Montenegro is now torn between a pressing need for economic stability and the political and social cost of closing down KAP. It's a choice faced by others in the Balkans: giving up a cherished, but ultimately unprofitable business model, spurred by financial necessity and hope of renewed prosperity within the European Union. The former Yugoslavia is littered with such industrial dinosaurs, deprived of the largesse of the late socialist leader Josip Broz Tito but kept on life-support by governments too scared to pull the plug.

The prices of the 120 beds in the 1600 square meter indoor complex range from 22 to 69 euros per night. Each trailer was individually designed by film and TV outfitter Marion Seul. The signature reading "Napoleon" written by the aide of late French Emperor Napoleon weeks before his death is seen on documents coming from a private collection of eight codicils dictated by the incapacitated Emperor and displayed in Paris, September 26, 2013. Following his defeat at the Battle of Waterloo, Napoleon was exiled to the remote South Atlantic island of St Helena where he lived out his days and died on May 5, 1821. The documents to be auctioned come from a private collection and are two of eight codicils to the emperor's will, most of which are kept at the French national archives. The documents themselves are currently being housed in a book shop in central Paris but will go under the hammer on November 6th and are expected to fetch between 80,000 and 120,000 euros.
