Sri Suriyawongse [Chuang Bunnag] poses in 1877

The patriarch of the incredibly influential Persian-Thai Bunnag family served famously under both Kings Mongkut and Chulalongkorn as high respected political advisor, Minister of Defence, Chancellor of the Armed Forces, and Regent for a couple of years during Chulalonkorn's youthful [not of age yet] reign....

The Bunnag clan found their way throughout all facets of the Kingdom, close to the monarchy and government in one fashion or another.

King Chulalongkorn took several Bunnag sisters as Princess concubines and the higher ranking men folk took up important positions in the Siamese business, political, and diplomatic world.
