The photo on page 108 (I am a new member, so can't post the pic) is a poster that was a product of the Pibul government's cultural reform movement in the late 30's early 40's that was designed to inform citizens of the way "civilized", or "modern" Thai people should dress and act. The left box details the "outdated" modes of dress and behavior, while the right box shows the ideal way to behave like a modern society. I hope this helps. LOVE all the old pics, by the way!

    scoundrel.

    did you ask?
    Actually, I agree.
From the very beginning, the posted images probably deserve credit references...

Mai phen rai - not the end of world.

This classic thread on TD is the victim of duplication everywhere...forums, blogs, journals, social networks, etc. - as I know that the individuals in question had really never researched like I have. Just ripped off from this thread. Even Google SEO list this thread in the top echelon.

I see this all over now....makes me proud, yet humble.
Believe me, I know what is circulating out there in the web-o-sphere.

Additionally, there are some dates that are quite questionable, as well as, some captions that are suspect. I will help with credit and corrections as I can.

Yeah, the clarity in some of the older ones (1870's, 1880's) rivals HD and digital pictures of today!
