HM King Chulalongkorn's magnificent Phra Merumas [Phra Meru] crematorium temple at Sanam Luang.
The return of Chulalongkorn's [and family] second European tour in 1907 was quite the grand occasion and event, as diginarties from the world over were present. The very Siamese/Thai notion of grand Royal pomp and parade was much in evident regarding this cherished moment. Almost akin to any such proper Royal presentation of the time. There has been a volume or two [Thai published] that recorded and preserved the spectacular photography that surrounded these events.
There are numerous photos of the 1907 return throughout this thread as well as archived in my TD gallery - for those who are interested.

And it's still there as a historical landmark and operational office. In the immediate neighborhood of the old British Borneo Company wharf and The Oriental Hotel - at the end of Soi Oriental.
Great Pictures, thanks
