Another year, another travel and life in another country thread. I'll jam all my pics of travel and stuff in China. Thoughts so far: I really like it, it's not what I was expecting but in the best of ways. Firstly, the Chinese have been nothing but friendly and helpful- I've only seen spitting twice in three days- now, my brother was spat on in Great Yarmouth so China is more courteous as far as I'm concerned! School have been super helpful about setting the apartment up and escorting me around Qingdao and helping me settle in. Today we did as much as the bureaucracy poobahs would allow, so I went to the harbour and beach.

First Stop was May 4th Square

and facing back from the harbour

Harbour and cityscape

Looking out to sea- I can sail, it's just one if the many things I can do but badly

The beach was crowded, but kept impressively clean for the amount of foot traffic

Walked to what is locally known as millionaires row- quiter cleaner and some massive but gaudy houses-I'd still like to live in one tho!

and another shot- into direct sunlight, naturally

and another beach one- water was clearer than I was expecting- cleaner than Patterz imo and much more mellowed out despite the crowds
