Now you be looking at the side of our local Tesco.

There's some really posh places here. Looks like DD's 'style'.

Soon you get to the north entrance to Tesco.

I usually go in and walk through the entire length of the mall as it's nice and cool inside and by now I'm starting to get a bit hot.

There's nothing more important than a healthy breakfast to start the day. Alternatively, you can slowly poison yourselves like these fine people are choosing to do.

The Bangkok MRT opened a couple of years ago and is a Godsend if you don't want to spend most of your day sitting in traffic.

Down in the depths it is nice and cool again. It really is hotting up outside. One can spend hours watching the locals make something simple, like buying a ticket, a real marathon. Luckily, there were no ban noks getting in the way today.

I just missed a train, so the platform is pretty empty. But, no worries as the trains run very frequently. They play the same half a song (advert for AIS) constantly though and it's really getting on my tits now.

Two stops later and we arrive at Sukhumvit Station. Up the escalator...

    ...and on towards the exits.

Right near the MRT is Soi Cowboy. I used to live at the other end of this street, but moving out a little way means that I can afford two dwellings and still pay less than I used to for one.

Asoke is busy today. If I came down here in the car it would probably have taken me about 20 minutes rather than the 10 minutes by using the MRT. If you apply that to 10 stations rather than just 2, you can see how efficient the train system is.

Here's the dentist that I said Scampy could probably walk into without an appointment (or he can phone them on 02 261 9119). That reminds me...

Everywhere you go in Bangkok there are new places being built. This is going to be a swanky new hotel.

There's always people milling around getting in the way, along with a whole fleet of trucks, but today I caught it at a good time.

    Nearly there.

    Here's my office. Looks nice.

But first, I need to grab my breakfast of an iced coffee.

    Finally I arrive.

That took about 30 mins from door to door. I'd better log on and see what you tossers have been saying about me.

And here's a map of the journey.

Had to go to the bank and Post Office today, a journey I make often.

Here again the 'main' road through the village:

    Taking a short-cut:

Hitting the 'real' main road near the market:

I ordered a take-away at one of the better eateries along the way:

The so-called town center, this shop was gonna be a 7/11, but unfortunately they dumped the plan so we have another place selling the same crap with the same opening hours as everyone else instead:

    The Amphoe office:

The Government Savings Bank: the most useless bank I've ever had the misforune to hand my money to, but the only one within a 60km radius:

    The Post Office:

I bought an ice-cold can of Chang at our only 'nightspot', owned by a policeman and sometimes open to 11pm and beyond:

    Ok here's mine.

Takes about 15 mins and is 14 km. The wet season isn't yet fully here so I'm still doing it by bike.

First, say goodbye to the kids

Turn left out of the gates heading up the soi - we've got a vets, an internet cafe, and an extremely popular shop that sells pink noodle soup. I hate it.

So at the end of the soi you turn left and then right. The area in the distance is where they cremate you. The ground is very dusty there. The dogs like rolling in it for some reason.

On the right is a very famous temple. Can you guess which one?

Then it's up onto the dual carriageway until the first u-turn. During morning rush hour a cop plays havoc with the traffic here.

I go along here for 2 km passing the Grand Hotel. Great view of the city from the rooftop restaurant. Before Purachai's time there was a rocking nightclub but there was a crackdown and it never recovered.

Got to fill up at the ESSO - cheeky bastards here once asked me for a tip.

Back on the main road before turning left at lights. This junction is the main fund raiser for the local Widows and Orphans Fund.

    A sharp left turn here:

    A right at the kiosk:

And back home, at the end of the soi:

So now we start heading out of town. On the left is the prison..

(The policeman hiding around the corner didn't smile when I asked him. Monday morning blues perhaps)

Opposite the prison is the city hall.

    Quite apt.

Through these next lights. I almost met my maker here a couple of months ago. Still get cold sweats going through it.

Now I have a straight 6km drive avoiding stupid people ...

    ...and stupid people in cars.

As driving on the roads here can be frustrating, I often whack 7 colours of shit out of my balls at the local golf range. They don't have those fancy machines that puts the ball on the tee, instead the little urchins from the local orphanage merrily sit at the edge of the mats teeing up the balls for you.

So on to the next lights and take a right.

Then over the railway crossing, remembering to look both ways:left to Bangkok and right to the end of the line and Laos.

Then take the next left past a one-manned police station. He sits there in his white t-shirt watching TV all day.

    Now we're in the countryside...

    Avoid the natural hazards...

Turn left at the roundabout that no one nows how to navigate round...

Through the first security gates and head straight on to the first building...

    Into the carpark...

    Salute the security guard...
