I can just about remember this event, as my parents were distraught during the coverage....

Aberfan. My mother came from the valleys and she was a primary teacher, so it struck a chord or two at home.
It should not have happened and years later I realised that the way the aftermath was handled was a disgrace. A real tragedy.
