My Bangkok Bank account is local. I have enough accounts. Easier to get a new phone!

    Have you got a garden?

You can grow Pak Choi in 7 weeks, less if you like baby Pak Choi. You can also grow bush beans, radish and some lettuce.

...and no you can't grow cans of Leo.

^ I might plant a few, the 2 bunnies love 'em.

If not growing from seed, can you just chop the leaves off one, then shove the base of it into the soil in yer garden?

    Daily moan. Getting older.

Me best mate from from the age of 12 to 20, that I met on the first day of high school as were in the same class, has a 20 yr old son, that just had a kid with his GF, got her up the duff-a-rooney unplanned.

Which now makes my best mate from high school a grandfather.

    A grandfather.

A grand..... father. A grandpa. Same age as me.

    Fok.

To regrow bok choy from the stem, cut off the base of the plant, leaving about 2-3 inches of the stem, and place it in a shallow dish or bowl with warm water, ensuring the cut side is submerged. After a few days, you should see new growth and roots, and you can then transplant it into soil.

Let me get this straight. I buy one bakchoy. I cut it in half. I plant half and, all being well, I get one bakchoy.

Having eaten one half, the green leafy bits at the top? Only good for the compost.
It's the contrast of the soft leafy green half with the white crunchy half that makes it good. That's why we call it by its Cantonese name 白菜, 'white cabbage'.

    The Yellow Book paper chase....
About 9 months ago the wife decided it would be a good idea for me to get the Yellow Book and a pink ID, probably thinks she won't have to provide her ID or tabian baan any more. Personally I don't give a you-know-what either way. What's it good for? perhaps accepted for renewing a driver license once in 5 years, not planning on opening another bank account so don't need it for that, and pink card rarely gets you "Thai price" at National Parks etc nowadays. so good for practically nothing. But anyway she started asking the district office what was needed, seemed simple enough so ok, lets do it. Then the bureaucratic run around started...we are busy getting ready for the provincial elections, come back later...then it was the tambon elections, then we are getting a new boss in a month, better wait for him to start.
So today we went to see the new boss, I tell the wife to make sure she understands all the requirements, ask if you don't understand anything. All smiles during the meeting, everything seems good but when we get home she tells me "not understand this bit" ....FFS, rolling my eyes. We work out that now we need a certified copy of my passport and MFA authentication for the new boss, old one just wanted a photocopy. OK, that is an official requirement so cannot complain even if it is a PITA.
But the thing that really got me .....they wanted to know when I first came to Thailand. Not to live, but the very first time as a tourist. Way back in 1994....and they want a copy of the passport stamp for that 31 year ago visit ! Why on earth would that have any relevance to getting a yellow book now?
Thailand, the hub of useless bureaucracy !

^ they're just giving you the run around, they probably don't have much experience in doing it and would rather not go through it, so tell you to get almost impossible things so it's easier for them.

I got mine around 2020 or 2021 and didn't need MFA certified anything.

Unfortunately different offices and officers are open to their own requirement when it comes to the yellow book, but they are required by law to process it. Some are easy, some make it hard.

As with any dealings here, you go in with printed copies of all requirements and laws printed in both Thai and English with the Ombudsman phone number on the top of every page, then as you sit down for the first time you politely place it on the table with your passport and whatever other documents.

And don't listen to what any Thai tells you.

Why, what have you heard. *listens intently*

One of the witnesses needed was the building manageress of a condo I own, she immediately shuck her head and said 'Cannot. You need to be married for 10 years, cannot'.

It's very difficult to say 'Just close your big clueless piehole and fucking go there with your ID card, because I actually fucking know what's needed and you're completely wrong. So just fucking go there with your ID Card, got it? ' in a manner that they then actually go there with their ID card to be one of your official witnesses.
