^ This is going to take a while to sink in. We have until September to plan something and then we go back to sort things out. There are a lot of complications, she's left a very unpleasant trail of mess behind. Unfortunately, walking away, or ignoring the problem isn't going to help.

^ Three, being looked after by grandmother, whose husband died recently so no income. Worse grandmother is now sick and being looked after by her other daughter who has two more kids. Her husband, in another village is looking after his sick parents because she's away so he can't work.
It's all been a bit of a nightmare for them over the last year and now it's got worse.

Good God poor kids. In the long run if they are looked after by adults it may be for the best but they'll still grieve their mum and dad I assume.

But what about all those greens, Jeff?

They seem to have been curtailed since I just carried on highlighting what a total wanker you are.

That you two will side with that egregious r sole numpt is a bit of a shocker.

    Oh, woe is me.

They are not too worried because they believe they have a cashed up farang relative to buy them out of trouble!
They could be wrong of course, but they think of you that way, based on your family Samaritan works so far.

I hope you prove them wrong.

And to think, you maintain that you're not a Tory.

Although Reform might fit the bill now.

^^ Oh they're worried Switch. This is extended family and they live in one of the poorer areas of the NE. Worse, land is being used for security that can no longer be paid. Not just one couple lost out, but 3 generations are well and truly scuppered.

    What would you do?
Ignore them completely and let them suffer
Buy their land at half price and make them pay you in rice each year.
Take the younger children into your household and have them join the local school.
Throw cash at them and hope it will solve all their problems
    A combination of the above.
    Think of something else

Tough call Troy. While I think in general people always want to help but sometimes that creates a larger more painful process.

So I say None of the above with the caveat that you offer various support where it makes good sense. You absolutely do not have any obligation to be the golden goose. Your level of involvement and support should be what you feel is appropriate.

What would I do?..... I always take the approach, what would they do if I wasn't here. Let that be the answer and help along the way.

    Best of luck to you.

They've existed for generations before you, they'll exist for generations after you.

Thais are yet to go extinct from the selfish stoopid shiz they manage to do to themselves, their families and their property.

Leave the Thais sort it out. Thai problems Thai solutions.

    Just wanted to repost this.

I know that Troy won't turn his back on this

Wouldn't help him much anyway as he probably still is married to his wife !

Nothing whatsoever to do with UK politics. This is about real people, and cultural norms in a different part of the world.

    Yes it is, Switch

Troy might have had one or two of the kids on his lap, when they were toddlers.

Won't help that "it's a different culture in a different part of the world"

It’s up to you of course. Given the help you have already contributed tothewider family, you could have been viewing thatway.
The choices will be few if family is helped, or offended if you don’t help. You don’t want or need me to make decisions for you.

Like you say, it has to be in your interest and on your terms.
