That really was something else.
Usual dentist. Known him and his wife best part of a decade.
Thought I was going in for a filling,
He poked around for a bit and went humm ... you'll need a crown for that tooth and your rear one is looking dodgy.
So he ground down the molar for a crown and then asked if I was still numb.
Yep, so in he went.
WOW ... in he went. boots and all.
I had no idea it would be such an invasive operation.
Nor how much it would knock me around.
AND I had free pass for Bangkok.
Luigi's right ... go the drugs.
The crown is BHT 10,000 and the Wisdom tooth removal was just BHT 1,000 plus some coin for pain releaf and anti-biotics
You can make a mammary of yourself any time you like, David. No need to wait for a special month.
Yeah, slice yer gum open, I had 3 Thai chicks levering off the set of pliers for 90 minutes, ended up cracking off shards of my jaw bone as the root had grown into/onto it. 2 of the jaw bone shards then remain in my gum and took a few weeks of them being slowly rejected by my body by being pushed through my gum. Fooked me right up for about 5 days, and was still moping around the place looking for sympathy for a good 3 weeks.
Was with my sister a few months later and she had a normal tooth (not wisdom) taken out and said she was 'expecting some kind of laser drill or something, not some big fookin' Polish lad to walk in with a set of pliers.'
Still, does wonders for your future dental hygiene practices.
Where's the comparitave shot from a corner showing 3 sides completed?
It's all about algorithms, solve those Rubiks puzzles and your well on your way to becoming a bit coin millionaire. ....in theory
Yes it is. A lad in one of my maths classes consistantly does the cube in under 30 seconds. He's memorised the algorithms, which is pretty good but the true genius is the one who solves the cube with logic, looking at possible outcomes, and forward planning, like a chess player.
My daughter can solve a 4x4.
She's kick started the craze in her school last year, apparently the most popular Xmas present was a Rubiks cube or a Quyi speed cube.
Nice to see kids playing with mind exercising games instead of phones.
The fun part is sticking on an extra colour, so there are 10 red and 8 orange.
I'm getting to like those fancy new crossings, and who knows they may also save a life or two once people know what they're for. Still see pedestrians racing for their lives, but it's early days yet.
Ever the optimist.
Coincidentally, zebra crossings have appeared on all the suburban back streets here. Nobody, but nobody, takes any notice and the pedestrians are not stupid enough to try to use them. Even the one outside the school is completely ignored.
^ The brain power and concentration to do that is awesome. Milliseconds to see and make a move, keeping track of 3 puzzles at the same time.
Christ, with Dave and Lulu bringing up Wisdom teeth extraction it had to happen. One of mine had payed up for years but i've put it off, its been at it again the last week and this time its for the chop. Went for an emergency appointment Weds and its being wrenched out later today - not looking forward to it.
